As the flagship exhibition venue of the GL events Group, Eurexpo Lyon has partnered with Axess to digitalize vehicle access management the assembly/dismantling phases while modernizing exhibitor parking ticket management. 

A major venue handling high-volume traffic

With 150,000 m² of exhibition space across seven halls, Eurexpo is one of the most important event sites in France and a reference in Europe. Located between Lyon city center and Lyon–Saint Exupéry Airport, the venue hosts numerous national and international events each year—including SIRHA, Salon de l’Auto, and Foire de Lyon—enerating intense flows of exhibitors, service providers, and vehicles.
These flows reach their peak during the installation and dismantling phases of the stands, where hundreds of vehicles converge in very short slots.

Axess Solutions supporting efficient vehicle access management 

Axess has deployed an online sales platform that allows exhibitors and service providers to purchase their assembly/dismantling passes and parking cards at any time, from any device — including their smartphone upon arrival at the venue.

On site, operational teams are equipped with Axess HANDHELD mobile devices, allowing them to instantly verify the validity of vehicle passes at entry points. In addition, the Checker App provides access to exhibitor and transport company information through vehicle license plate recognition. This enables staff to quickly identify and contact drivers that have exceeded their time slot or whose vehicle is parked in the wrong area.

Delivering measurable benefits for event operations

Digitalizing the exhibitor journey has significantly improved Eurexpo Lyon's operational efficiency. The data collected through the platform provides a real-time view of on-site flows, allowing teams to anticipate peaks in traffic and adjust their resources accordingly. Entry checks are faster, and unauthorized or incorrectly parked vehicles can be managed immediately.

By eliminating paper media and manual permit distribution, event teams are better prepared for every event and can focus on what matters most: delivering a smooth operational experience and providing outstanding service to exhibitors and visitors.
