4th year leading fan access at Formula 1 Miami

The Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix was held once again on May 2 – 4 at the Miami International Autodrome, a purpose-built temporary circuit designed around the iconic Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. With impressive attendance figures of over 270,000 visitors in recent editions, this premier motorsport event once again -and for the fourth time- ensured a smooth entry with Axess Solutions.

Hard Rock Stadium is a premier and versatile sports and entertainment venue known for hosting major events like Super Bowls, the annual Miami Open tennis tournament, and upcoming FIFA World Cup games. Driven by its commitment to safety, efficiency, and fan satisfaction, the stadium implemented Axess Smart Solutions for enhanced access control.

High-capacity areas with multiple Axess gates are strategically placed around the stadium to reduce bottlenecks and manage crowds for major events. Across eight fan access areas, the stadium has installed 212 AX500 Smart Gate NG - Mobile Pallet and WIFI equipped with modern turnstiles for seamless crowd flow during ticket validation along with Axess SMART SCANNER 600 NFC for (mobile) quick ticket scanning.
During the F1 Miami event, Axess turnstiles are configured to validate both general admission tickets and staff or media accreditation badges. This dual functionality enhances operational efficiency while reducing the need for separate access control systems.

In addition, 70 Axess PEDESTAL 600 NFC and 60 Axess HANDHELD units are integrated at the VIP entrances.

Hard Rock Stadium has adopted mobile ticketing as its primary entry method, which allows fans to use digital tickets stored on their smartphones. This setup enhances security and minimizes counterfeit tickets by providing secure, encrypted digital entry.

The stadium’s security team has access to real-time data through the integrated access control system, which helps monitor entry points, flag potential security risks, and address crowd management challenges.
