SCAN & SKI IN VORARLBERG

The new construction of the Valisera cable car in Silvretta Montafon ushered in a new, digital age for the ski resort. Ready for the future - with the latest Axess setup.

A total of 70 million Euros went into the vision of creating a year-round venue, explained Silvretta Montafon Managing Director Peter Marko at the opening of the Valisera cable car in December 2021. In addition to one of the most modern cable car systems in the world, a large photovoltaic system and the world's largest E-charging station in a ski resort, investments were made in the digitalization of visitor management. Axess is a long-standing partner of the Silvretta Montafon ski resort and also took over the implementation of ticketing, access and parking management.

Axess TICKET LOUNGE

The construction period was used to simplify all processes - both for the management and for the guests. These are now welcomed in a large arrival area - the 360° Silvretta Park Montafon - with integrated TICKET LOUNGE. In the digitalized valley station, tickets can be purchased in the self-service process. In addition, the cash desk area for stationary sales was equipped with the latest generation of Axess SMART POS. The modern design of the Axess products fit perfectly into the futuristic architecture of the new Valisera cable car station.

The Axess TICKET LOUNGE reduces the workload of the ticket office staff enormously. Ski guests can purchase their tickets quickly and easily. The ski resort itself markets ticket sales under the slogan ´Scan & Pay´:

  • Buy ticket online
  • Get a voucher
  • Scan voucher at the PICK UP BOX on site
  • Ticket is printed

It couldn't be simpler," says project manager Mathias Freidl. It doesn't matter whether tickets are purchased in the winter season for skiing or in the summer for an adventure day, because the Axess system is designed for year-round operation.

New benchmark in Vorarlberg

The new setup in Silvretta Montafon sets new standards for a perfect experience in year-round operation and efficient structures for resort operators.

"It's great to be part of such an ambitious project. Coordinating with the many parties in the construction phase was a challenge: Axess implemented the entire project in just five and a half months!", says Mathias Freidl.

Another highlight: Axess PARKING regulates a smooth entry and exit at the visitor parking lot. Not only does the 10-person gondola lift "Valisera Bahn 2.0" take guests up to the mountain experience at 7 m/s, but the opening process of the parking barrier is also impressive with a speed of 1.3 seconds. Thanks to integrated license plate recognition, long-term parkers as season-pass holders can drive in and out without any effort. Data, license plates and invoices are stored in the personal customer account. Another step of digitization.
