From May 24 to 31, the F1 Fan Village brought together over 20,000 motorsport fans for a week-long celebration of the Spanish Grand Prix. This dynamic motorsport festival offered an exciting mix of entertainment and interactive experiences, while ensuring smooth and secure access thanks to Axess Solutions.

This year, the F1 celebrates its 75th anniversary, and Barcelona has a long history of hosting Formula 1 events. In fact, 2025 marks the 35th consecutive edition of the Grand Prix at the permanent Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. As part of the lead-up to the Spanish Grand Prix, and to bring fans closer to the sport, Barcelona once again transformed Plaça de Catalunya into the vibrant F1 Fan Village. 

This free-entry event featured a wide variety of activities related to Formula 1, including exhibitions, workshops, and programs, as well as concerts in the city center of Barcelona. 

Once more, Axess Solutions were selected to ensure seamless and secure entry for the large number of visitors at the F1 Fan Village. 

We installed eight AX500 Smart Gate NG – Mobile Pallet and WIFI with modern turnstiles for efficient crowd flow, as well as two Axess SMART POST 600 NFC for barrier-free access. Thanks to their long-lasting battery packs combined with mobile pallets and WIFI modules, these solutions offer complete independence in gate positioning and wireless online operation. Moreover, both gates are equipped with Axess SMART SCANNER 600 NFC for barcode and RFID/NFC ticket reading, verifying invitation validity before entry. 

The online scanning of tickets entering and also of those exiting, guaranteed that the maximum capacity of the event inside the square never exceeded 2.000 fans. This was an essential safety and security feature, implemented in collaboration with the ticketing partner Onebox.
