Axess and the "Golden Ticket" of Salt Lake City

Salt Lake City is not only the home town of Ted Ligety, it is also just one hour by car away from our Axess North America branch office in Park City. In 2002, the city on the Great Salt Lake in the US state of Utah hosted the Olympic Winter Games. In 2004, it was the venue of the World Sledge Hockey Championships and markets itself as "SKI CITY". We are obviously very pleased that our US office is so close to this ski hotspot.

The Super Pass is the "Golden Ticket" to all sports facilities of Salt Lake City: Skiers can choose between the four ski arenas of Alta, Brighton, Snowbird and Solitude. Super Pass holders benefit from additional discounts when renting skis, using the shuttle bus service, etc. The Super Pass can be purchased from a number of online platforms. Until now, the ticket fees were managed by OmniTicket, a leading global ticket provider.

As the costs for Salt Lake City for transactions grew and grew, the SKI CITY promoters were looking for an alternative and eventually asked us to take over the sale and administration of the ticket vouchers. OmniTicket Network who has more than 400 clients in 26 countries was a formidable competitor for this ticketing solution project, and we are very pleased with winning this important contact.

One of the main challenges in this project is the fact that most ski regions operate their own cash point system, which obviously need to be streamlined. This has already happened in Alta and Solitude who work with the same system. This can be easily achieved with our Smart Access Points of Sale solution: The moment a voucher is redeemed, the POS detects where it was bought, deactivates the code, saves the location and time of redemption and forwards the payment details to the booking system.

We also provided 200 hotels with a software solution that could be installed without any additional hardware expenses. Hotels can now sell the Super Pass directly to their clients and produce the necessary vouchers on the spot. All the guests have to do is collect their ski pass with the printed voucher at the POS of the chosen ski region. This system has been fully implemented for the winter season 2014/2015. On request, we still offer of course a combined software and hardware solution with the Ticketprinter.
