The organizers of the Salzburg Business Run once again relied on the proven expertise of Axess. Our advanced access technology played a key role in streamlining the start process and preventing overcrowding.
At the starting area, six AX500 Smart Gate NG - Mobile Pallet and WIFI units were installed. These turnstiles controlled the entry flow of participants by admitting up to 350 runners into the start zone every three minutes.
Once each wave had set off, the gates closed automatically before reopening for the next group — ensuring an efficient, congestion-free start that allowed the runners to fully focus on their race.
Additional Axess Solutions, including Axess CLICS and Axess LANE CONTROL MONITOR, further enhanced the experience, providing secure and reliable access management.
The Salzburg Business Run offered several route options. The classic 5.9-kilometer course passed by the city’s most beautiful sights and was ideal for beginners and recreational runners. For those seeking a tougher challenge and for experienced runners, there was the 11-kilometer Q-Trail, which climbed four hills and covered nearly 300 meters of elevation – making it Austria's largest city trail run. Furthermore, in response to growing popularity, a new 5.0-kilometer route for Nordic walkers was introduced this year, also guiding participants through Salzburg’s charming old town.
Axess already supported the Business Run successfully in 2024 – and this year, we were once again able to demonstrate our commitment to making local events safe, efficient, and enjoyable. This underscores the importance of innovative access control systems for the smooth running of large-scale events.
We are proud to have contributed not only as a technology partner but also as active participants, showcasing our company’s team spirit and enthusiasm for an active lifestyle. After crossing the finish line, the Axess team rounded off the day with a shared dinner – a perfect conclusion to a successful event.
