START OF THE 22ND INTERALPIN IN INNSBRUCK

Written by TeamAxess | 26.04.2017

The INTERALPIN began life in the 1970’s as a small-scale specialist presentation held during a congress. 40 years later, this biennial event is undisputedly the world’s leading trade fair for the alpine technology sector. Crowds were soon flocking to the main entrance as the 22nd staging of the INTERALPIN got underway today, 26 April 2017. The role of Axess at the 2017 INTERALPIN will not merely be limited to that of an exhibitor. The company is also responsible for ensuring smooth access and for visitor management.

More than 650 exhibitors and specialist visitors from 80 countries attended the 2015 INTERALPIN in Innsbruck. 60% of these participants were from abroad, sending out the clear message that INTERALPIN is truly the world hub for alpine technology. In light of the major winter sport events that are set to take place in China and South Korea, the event organizers, congress messe innsbruck (cmi), expect that this year will continue to extend the international profile of the INTERALPIN by attracting large numbers of participants from Asia.

Smooth access with Axess

For Axess AG, the importance of the 2017 INTERALPIN will extend well beyond its role as an exhibitor. Axess and congress messe innsbruck have been collaborating closely for a number of years, and this year’s visitors will have the chance to experience the Axess system at first hand. The company has been responsible for everything from online ticketing to parking and will also manage access to the event itself.

Ski resort of the future

The focal point of this year’s INTERALPIN will be digitalization. Even the opening words of the official welcoming speech addressed the importance of the topic of Industry 4.0. At the Axess stand, everything will be geared towards the digital ski resort of the future to emphasize the role of the company as a driver of innovation. Specialist visitors will be offered an interactive Customer Journey which will enable them to discover Axess RESORT SOLUTIONS 4.0, delivering networked and holistic services from a single source via the Axess DATACENTER. The tour begins with the ticketing process, which takes place via the Axess web shop or the Axess CONNECT.APP according to customer preference. Tickets ordered online can subsequently be directly collected at the Axess PICK UP BOX 600 via a self-service procedure. The following stage of the process involves using Axess RESORT.RENTAL to hire equipment. The ski ticket always acts as the central medium for this purpose. The next station is the Axess RESORT.LOCKER, where ski guests can reserve their own personal locker. Again, all they need to operate the facility is their ski ticket. Then skiers are able to proceed to the slopes via the tried-and-tested Axess Smart Gate NG, the modular structure of which fulfils all the requirements of a modern ski region. If a few lessons are still needed, Axess RESORT.SKISCHOOL allows the services of a ski instructor to be quickly booked at the same time. All of these services and further innovations for the 2017/18 season can be viewed at the Axess stand (Hall A/Stand A26) until Friday.
