It is not for nothing that the Virgin along with the regions at her southern borders have been incorporated into the UNESCO World Natural Heritage. The region is extremely multifaceted, and this is why a trip with the Jungfrau railway to the Jungfraujoch is for many visitors to Switzerland a fixed point on their sightseeing list. The ski region encompasses Jungfrau, Grindlwald-First, Kleine Scheidegg-Männlichen and Mürren-Schilthorn, and is one of the largest skiing areas in the heart of the Swiss Alps.
Managing different business units from a single source
It is not for nothing that the Virgin along with the regions at her southern borders have been incorporated into the UNESCO World Natural Heritage. The region is extremely multifaceted, and this is why a trip with the Jungfrau railway to the Jungfraujoch is for many visitors to Switzerland a fixed point on their sightseeing list. The ski region encompasses Jungfrau, Grindlwald-First, Kleine Scheidegg-Männlichen and Mürren-Schilthorn, and is one of the largest skiing areas in the heart of the Swiss Alps. The challenge set before us by the operators was that of enabling a single-source administration of their aggregate business areas and the concomitant increasing requirements. This includes the ski operation, the excursion railway to the Jungfraujoch, the transport of goods, the Webshop for B2B as well as B2C customers, and the management of group reservations.
Group reservations management in particular had up to then eluded satisfactory organization. Several different tools were needed to remedy the situation, and this severely complicated the work flow.
Axess team magnification for the development of the software package
Several different tools were needed to remedy the situation, and this severely complicated the work flow. Having won the award to undertake the project, we are now busy with developing a software package that joins the business areas and the respective demands. Our team has already been expanded to enable development of a software package on this scale. And alongside the impressive scope of the order in the Software Department, we can also proudly report that we will outfit the region with upwards of 70 POS Systems, over 100 B2B Selling Points and over 140 Readers.
Startup is to ensue in two phases: The first part of the installation will go into operation with the 2015 winter season. Windup should take place with the launch of group reservations in autumn 2016.
"We are very proud to demonstrate our abilities for such an important figurehead of Swiss Tourism, as the Jungfrau region, and to meet the high standards with know-how, quality and innovation. Axess is confident, that this project will convince more ski resorts of us, says Officer Oliver Suter.
