The eight installed gates offer fast and contactless access to the ski area with UHF technology. The AX500 Smart Gates have a special UHF field distribution of the antennas, so that the UHF field only detects and reads the chip cards within the two antennas. The restriction of the UHF field within the gate area serves the purpose of isolating people at the entrances. In the remote areas of the ski area, three Axess HANDHELDS 600 with UHF readers serve as mobile gates. The Axess solution was connected to the American POS provider Siriusware via an interface and implemented in the cash register system.
Axess' UHF solution was implemented in cooperation with the Kathrein company and is part of the FFG-funded project. The system is part of the Frontrunner initiative and was submitted with the title: "System for locating and validating UHF-RFID transponders in personal access control".
